GFWC Woman's Club, Inc. has proudly sponsored the Marion County Spelling Bee for over ten years. Prince Quamina, pictured above, from Lake Weir Middle School, displays his medal after the Marion County Spelling Bee held at Marion Technical Institute on Thursday night, Feb. 16, 2012. Judges for this year included our own Sandra Emmel, Leigh Steinberg Carol Cameron, Mary Ross and Sonia Palmer. Thanks to Diane Schrier for heading up this wonderful event.

Our Club collected over 200 pairs of socks in quart-sized bags for GFWC Sock Project to be donated to our local Domestic Violence center.
Meetings:
General meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month from September - May at the Ocala Elks Lodge,
located at 702 NE 25Th Ave . Visitors and Guests are welcome! Membership applications are available at the meetings.
**Day meetings are on Tuesday at 11:45 AM. A delicious lunch is served ($10) and reservations are
required by the preceding Thursday. Our meetings include interesting programs and speakers, in addition to Club
business.
**Evening meetings are generally held on Tuesday nights at 7 PM and will be announced.
**Book Club meetings are on the second Thursday of the month at 2 PM. All Club members are welcome!

- March 12, 2012 - Monthly Evening Meeting 6:30 PM at Allergy & Asthma Care of Florida 1500 SE Magnolia Ext Suite 203. Speaker will be Diane Schrier.
- March 13, 2012 - Monthly Day Meeting 11:45 AM at the Ocala Elks Lodge. Speaker will be local author Lucy Tobias. RSVP required.
- April 10, 2012 - Monthly Day Meeting 11:45 AM at the Ocala Elks Lodge. Speaker will be announced.

"The objectives of the Club shall be charitable as defined by Section 501 (c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The general nature of the objective of this corporation shall be to promote, by cooperation of its members, educational and charitable advancement of the community and to aid and encourage the general welfare of its members and their interests."
Our Club is a division of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC) and the GFWC Florida.
